Currency Discriminators

A currency discriminator is a money counter that is designed to set certain bills (notes) aside from others, based on a certain criteria. Before the currency discriminator can process the bill, it has to check several things.

For instance if suspected that a wad of notes contains both genuine and fake ones, it becomes necessary to sort the latter. Before doing anything further to them, the currency discriminators are equipped with various tools to detect fake notes. Some, for instance, have ultraviolet (UV) scanning mechanisms; as some counterfeit bills tend to behave differently from authentic currency when exposed to ultraviolet light.

Discriminating old bills becomes necessary in cases where, for instance, decisions have to be made on which notes are to be kept in circulation, and which notes are to be retired. Most currency discriminators are able to set aside notes that are either tampered, written, worn out or just simply too old to continue being distributed.

The plus side to a currency discriminator as well is the fact that the machine will also count money in a mixed denomination format, allowing the user to place an amount of mixed money having it being counted, sorted, discriminated and finally giving you a grand total of the batch amount processed. Currency discriminating money counters are essential to all types of financial institutions or local businesses which have alot of cash handling involved.
